Since 1852, Oakdale Cemetery has continued to serve the citizens of Wilmington, NC as a place of remembrance. Today, we are optimistic to embrace cremation by providing inurnment options for families and the future of Oakdale. Dogwood Columbarium
The Dogwood Columbariums are located on the historic grounds of Oakdale in Section D. Nestled amongst magnificent trees, surrounded by impressive monuments and mausoleums, the Dogwood Columbarium offers niches that hold two urns.
Cypress Columbarium
The Cypress Columbarium located on the historic grounds of Oakdale between Sections D and E. The majestic bald cypress trees tower over this natural serene setting like it was meant to be. The Cypress Columbarium offers niches for two urns and a new additional option, an Ossuary. The Ossuary is located in the center of the columbarium allowing multiple families to place the contained remains of their loved ones within and their names/dates will be inscribed on the flanking pillars for memorialization.
Scatter Garden
Located in the Live Oak Section just off of North 15th Street, the Scatter Garden serves as an economical option to scatter the cremated remains of your loved ones in a graceful setting among the towering Live Oaks. The names and dates of your loved ones will be inscribed on the black granite panels below the garden area.
